Recently I received an email which posed a question to which I have often wondered. Am I the only person who while on vacation or away for an extended time, would take a moment out of my day to make a phone call to my kitties? I have to admit that I have been guilty of doing this. Could it be that my friend Donna's cat, Chester is waiting to hear the phone ring?Of course when I have been out of town, I have called my cat sitter each day to inquire about my kitties. But I think placing an actual phone call to our cats depends on their purrsonality and the nature of our relationship with them.
For example, Donna shares her home with a group of feline friends. She recently sent me several photos o
f her gang. While looking at them, I could not help but form a scenario about what might prompt her to give them a call.
Missy Toe loves to hang out in high places which could be dangerous. A little reminder to be careful could be considered prudent.
Mouse, a shy little guy might be missing her and longing to hear her voice.
Pirate and Wheezle could sleep the day away when she is at work. Donna just might be sending them a loving wake up call to remind them that they are missed

Do you ever call your kitties when you are away? Leave a comment and let us know.

1. I would occasionally call mine when visiting family for Christmas. One day, I was calling my friend who was taking care of them (her husband said she was over there). She let the machine pick up first & told me that all of the cats gathered around the machine to listen when they heard it was me on the phone. So, now I know it means something to them.
